I have a dream today … I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low. The rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will he able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will he free one day.

“I Have A Dream” Speech [Excerpt]
As we all know….today is the day we celebrate the man with a dream. We celebrate a man who left an impacting mark in the movement of social justice, freedom, and absolute equality. Today we celebrate a man who stood in the gap for those who were bound in oppression. We celebrate a man who never lost hope, even until his very last breath. We celebrate a man with a dream..a vision for everyone to be FREE at last. TODAY, I celebrate Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK).
I want to thank him and the many others for paving the way for me- a colored woman to be where I am today!
There’s a lot more work to be done in our society on all levels, but we are moving…moving…moving forward.
If you think about it, WE ARE THE DREAM THAT MLK DREAMED.
WE ARE THE LEADERS OF CHANGE THAT WE ARE WAITING FOR.
WE MUST CONTINUE TO DREAM DREAMS AND WORK TOWARD MAKING IT HAPPEN.
WE ARE CALLED TO DREAM BIG, BUT ALSO CALLED TO ACTION.
WE ARE CALLED TO SHAKE THE FOUNDATIONS OF OPPRESSION.
WE ARE CALLED TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS OURSELVES…EVEN OUR ENEMIES.
Today, we celebrate a man with a dream.
Today I celebrate Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King!
